Both Carrie and James took the time to discuss and understand what we wanted to ensure we achieved this, and we are left with an amazing end result! All building work is exciting but also a little scary. Oliver James were brilliant, Carrie and James both reassured us with our decisions, as well as giving us the time we wanted and needed to decide what is going to work best for us. We changed our mind a couple of times with the design, and it was never a problem as Carrie said it needs to be perfect for us! "Met Carrie and James from Oliver James Garden Rooms to discuss our extension, and what a refreshing change. My perception of dealing with trades is one of confrontation and mistrust, James clearly knows what he is doing and has built over 150 garden rooms in the Milton Keynes area. Very knowledgeable and the process was explained clearly. "It was not a decision we could easily commit to and we feared going ahead with a garden room for the back of our house. Firstly, it is a big expense and because of this, it had to flow well with the rest of the house and work as a liveable space. We’ve seen a few extensions where a room is just plonked on the back of a house and never feels intergrated with the rest of the home. After taking in a lot of considerations, a year later we decide it was the right thing to do.

From day one we decided to go with Oliver James. We were impressed with how James just deals with garden rooms which means he comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge as to how best make use of the existing building and the new area being created. We spent a lot of time planning and deciding how the layout would work as an open plan family space and to give us the feel of the outside coming in. We wanted to move the existing small kitchen from the front of the house to the back and make it a central part of the family home. James took time in understanding our vision and helped with suggestions on the best way to make sure that we have the perfect addition to our home. If we had an idea, he helped us run with it.

We had the work done back in 2017. The team were on site everyday prompt at 8 am. This gave us the opportunity to have a daily chat as to what was happening that day before heading off to work. James followed this up with weekly site visits. Plus, he was always contactable if we had a query. Although we’d never experienced building work within the home before it wasn’t nearly as painful as the horror stories you hear about. We had to live in our home while the work was undertaken which could have been a nightmare but it was OK and exciting to see the progress being made each day and week.

As I mentioned, part of our vision was to bring the outside in and to give us a feeling of space. As you can see from the pictures this has certainly been achieved and a worthwhile investment, especially with the summer we had last year."

"James was fantastic to work with – we really enjoyed and got great value from discussing our ideas with him during the initial process of designing the room. When work commenced the team were friendly and polite, and responsive and understanding of our particular requirements, which is really important when making such an investment. When we encountered inevitable challenges and problems, James was supportive and the team ensured items were addressed. The final product is an outstanding addition to our home, totally transforming our house and our family lifestyle. It is a space our family always uses and every time I get home from work I can’t quite believe the change! I try and work from home as much as possible!

"We had such a great experience working with Oliver James. The staff were hard-working, polite, clean and always on time. They really listened to what we wanted and created the most beautiful garden room. I was heavily pregnant during the extension and they ensured everything was on time, the mess was to a minimum and they kept me in the loop throughout the entire process. We had our garden room built in 2016 and due to personal circumstances we sadly have to move to be closer to family now. We were so lucky to have the garden room as it was the selling feature of our house.

We had 7 viewings and all 7 put in an offer and we were lucky enough to get above our asking price. Our house was on the market for 2 weeks it did not need to be on any longer. All viewers commented on how the garden room was the most amazing feature. It is so tastefully done and creates the most amazing open space. Prices were good compared to other quotes we received and all prices were broken down into proper stages so we knew what we were paying for at what point. We were given all paperwork in regards to planning applications etc and Oliver James ensures they take full responsibility for this and get everything checked so there are no issues. "Great experience working with Oliver James Garden Rooms. James and Carrie are both very friendly and easy to communicate with and always responded quickly to any questions we had along the way. All the workers we had on site during the build worked quickly and efficiently and were very tidy.
