What’s the difference between a conservatory and a Garden Room?
Liveability! Unlike a conservatory a Garden Room will be usable all year round and become an integral part of your home.
What makes a Garden Room different to any other type of extension?
With a Garden Room the emphasis is always on light and space.
Do I Need Planning Permission For A Garden Room?
Probably not. Most Garden Rooms fall within existing permitted build, but we will of course advise you further when we visit your home.
Are Garden Rooms built to current building regulations?
Yes, of course! Your Garden Room will be inspected at key stages throughout the build by independent building control officers.
How well insulated are your Garden Rooms?
We always comply with and usually exceed modern building standards with regards to floor, wall and roof insulation. It’s highly likely that your new Garden Room will be better insulated than your existing home!
Will a Garden Room be at the same level as our existing ground floor?
Floors will be carefully laid in such a way as to ensure a seamless transition from your existing house into your Garden Room, unless of course you’d like the floor to be at a different level, which we can achieve, subject to ground conditions.
How is a Garden Room heated?
For maximum comfort with minimal impact, we install underfloor heating as standard. The type of underfloor heating system we install usually depends on the size of your room and type of flooring you are intending to lay.
How many Garden Rooms have you built?
To date in excess of 150 and still counting at the rate of 15-20 projects a year.
Do you have a showroom?
No, we don’t have showroom, however we are more than happy to arrange for interested clients to visit similar past projects.
Do you employ your own staff?
We employ our own longstanding team, who in turn work alongside trusted specialist contractors.
What areas of the country do you cover?
We currently serve Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Oxfordshire.
Are your projects ‘fixed price’?
Yes, unless of course there are significant changes to the design or specification following the tender submission. Remember also that our tender price includes all professional fees and VAT, so the price we quote really is the price you pay.
How do your payments work?
We typically break down the total cost into 10 varying stages payments beginning with an initial payment usually 1 week prior to a project starting.
Can you complete any additional work, including removing existing internal walls?
In most cases we can fulfil clients’ requests for additional work – make sure to raise these when we visit so that the work can be taken into account when presenting our tender.
Do you fit TV / Sky / Audio systems?
Whilst we aren’t audio visual engineers, we would be happy liaise with your own installer to ensure the necessary cabling is incorporated into your Garden Room.
Will my Garden Room be ready to use straight away?
Your Garden Room will be finished and decorated for you, leaving you just to choose and lay your choice of flooring material.
Do you lay finished flooring?
We don’t lay flooring, however we can recommend several local companies we’ve worked with successfully in the past.
Do you fit kitchens?
